This week, I took off from work to finalize things for our big move to Korea. Gianni and I did a quick 1 night trip to Bard College to visit Gianni's friends from school. Most of them were able to make it out at least for a bit to see us, which was great. It was a really fun night, even if it was short.
I'm glad that I've been able to see most of my family members before leaving. We saw my mom's two sisters and their families two weeks ago. I saw my dad's sister and her family the other day. Gianni went Thursday and Friday to see his family. We've seen Gianni's brother and his family a few times this summer. This week, I spent some time with my two best friends and my immediate family.
On Tuesday, Gianni and I used the free passes my dad got us to go to 6 Flags. It was Gianni's first time at a big amusement park. He was hysterical, but I got him on most of the rides I wanted to go on. I'm a roller coaster junkie.
Wednesday was my mom's day off from work this week, so we worked on packing. I am going to have to pay $300 to bring 2 extra suitcases (you only get one free). I think they should have some sort of rule where if you are going really far away, or if you only buy a one-way ticket, you should be able to AT LEAST have 2 bags free. I paid enough for the damn ticket! Whatever. It is what it is. We took my three bags to the UPS store to weigh, and I was still 6 pounds over the weight limit! UGH!!! So Thursday and Friday, I tried to redistribute and work out weight issues. I also finished buying gifts for my administrators and co-teachers. Don't want to give away the presents in case they somehow happen upon my blog before I give them their gifts, but I got 5 presents total (principal, vice principal, head teacher, co-teachers, recruiter).
This morning, I got the final things I needed in order. I went to Costco and got added onto my mom and dad's membership because there is a Costco in Daegu I'm going to want to go to. I also changed my sim card back over into my old phone and dropped my iphone data plan. That way my dad only has to pay $10 a month for my phone. I tested the Line2 app to see if it works, and my calls forward just fine. The easiest thing though is for you to have my Line2 phone number to call and text me, so if you don't have that number, you can email or call me, and I'll give it to you. Whenever I'm on wifi, I get free calling and texting to and from the US. It's a great service for only $90 a year. Thanks for telling me about it, Rob.
Also, today is my brother's 21st birthday, so we've been celebrating that. I kind of feel bad about leaving him the day after his birthday. LOVE YOU BEN!

Now to get my carry on in order and do some last minute packing! We have to be at the airport super early in the morning, but that shouldn't be a problem because my sleeping abilities have been seriously limited the last week. I've been waking up at 8:30am everyday, and I can't get back to sleep because all I can think about is KOREA!!!
